ADIDAS U17 - The Hymn of Team Spirit

Sports | Arabic Folktronica

Overview

At the U17 level, football is more than competition—it is belief taking its first real form.

For the Adidas U17 Football World Cup, the brand sought a sound that moved beyond the traditional hype-driven anthem. The intention was to create something deeper and more enduring—a musical expression of team spirit, perseverance, and unity.

The result was a hymn: intimate, powerful, and collective.

The Challenge

Most sports campaigns rely on energy, volume, and speed. This film demanded restraint.

The music needed to:

  • Capture togetherness over individual glory
  • Feel timeless rather than event-specific
  • Build emotional strength without aggression
  • Reflect youth, hope, and shared purpose

The sound had to inspire without shouting.

Creative Direction

We approached the composition as a modern prayer.

Instead of rhythm-driven propulsion, the music moves through breath, harmony, and gradual lift. The piece unfolds like a procession—each phrase adding weight, each voice reinforcing the collective.

Key creative ideas:

  • Human voices as the primary instrument
  • Minimal instrumentation to preserve emotional clarity
  • Slow, deliberate harmonic progression that mirrors resilience

The hymn builds not through force, but through faith.

Vocal Execution

To embody this vision, we collaborated with The Aeolians Choir—winners of the World Choir Championship (USA).

Their performance brought:

  • Precision without sterility
  • Power without aggression
  • Emotion rooted in discipline and unity

Each voice functions as both an individual and a part of something larger—mirroring the essence of team sport.

Execution

  • Composed a fully original choral piece
  • Structured the music to rise organically with the film’s narrative
  • Designed dynamics to feel communal, not triumphant
  • Final mix crafted to feel immersive yet reverent

The music leaves space for reflection, allowing the visuals to breathe.

Result

The final film delivers a vocal symphony of purpose. The hymn transforms the idea of competition into collective belief—where winning is not just a scoreline, but the act of moving forward together. When voices move as one, belief becomes unstoppable.
